Dreams within reach: Students in Camarines Sur receive a new classroom

CAMARINES SUR, Philippines, 22 March 2019 — BDB Law Foundation, in partnership with Children’s Hour, turned over a fully-furnished classroom building for the benefit of the students of Fundado Elementary School in Camarines Sur.

BDB Law Foundation, Children’s Hour, and Fundado Elementary representatives unveil the new building’s marker.

The Department of Education (DepEd) identified Fundado Elementary School as one of the dilapidated classroom buildings that are in need of renovation. With BDB Law Foundation’s generosity, over 800 public school students will benefit from their donated classroom.

Led by their Chairperson, Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad, BDB Law Foundation turned over a fully-furnished classroom building with repaired comfort rooms at Fundado Elementary School in Camarines Sur. Other attendees of the event were BDB Law Partner Atty. Irwin Nidea Jr., BDB Law Foundation Executive Director Donna Saludario, and Children’s Hour Assistant Executive Director Ovy Javier.

BDB Law Partner Atty. Irwin Nidea Jr. gave his remarks during the program and commemorated his grandmother who previously taught in Fundado Elementary School.

“Now children, you have no more excuse not to dream. You have no more excuse not to study. You have no more excuse not to excel more. So continue to study hard and hope that one day you will also have a chance to give back to your school,” said Atty. Irwin Nidea Jr.

Apart from the ceremonial classroom turnover, volunteers from BDB Law & Associates also joined the students and teachers in painting a mural outside the new classroom. The mural focused on math and financial literacy which BDB Law aimed to emphasize. This will inspire and motivate the students to do well in their studies.

BDB Law Foundation has been giving back to various local communities nationwide through Children’s Hour Philippines Foundation’s Bayanihang Pampaaralan Project. Since 2016, when BDB Law Foundation and Children’s Hour partnered, these organizations have reached out to students in far flung areas such as: Apayao, Sagada Mountain Province, and Camarines Sur.

Children’s Hour envisions a nation where Filipino children have access to their basic rights, such as the right to education, which will allow them to enjoy a happy, safe, and fulfilling future. This is achieved with the help of the foundation’s One Hour Campaign, where they invite individuals and companies to donate at least an hour’s worth of their annual salary. With your continuous support, Children’s Hour can help more children nationwide to achieve their dreams.
