Thirty (30) elementary students of Didipio Elementary School ages 6-12 years old actively participated in the three-day Mining For National Treasures-Drum and Lyre Training 2011 held May 26-28, 2011 at Didipio Elementary School. Barangay Didipio, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

With the help of Children’s Hour and through efforts of OceanaGold employees, a set of drum and lyre instruments were donated to the Didipio Elementary School and a three-day workshop was facilitated to help create the first Drum and Lyre Corps of Barangay Didipio.

Representing Didipio Elementary School are students and teachers headed by Ms. Victoria Baguilat, Principal; Children’ Hour is Ms. Kris Jovet Garcia, Junior Resource Associate; Ocean Gold Philippines Inc. are Mr. Bradley Norman, Senior Vice President-Philippines, Ms. Rhodora S. Songayab, HR and Admin Manager and Mr. Librado Villamayor, Community Development Superintendent; Trainers are Mr. Rennel Tan and Mr. Eduardo Palma
